from the courtroom in sanford, florida. the hearing will decide whether george zimmerman's request for a delay in the trial should be granted. the trial is scheduled to get underway june 10. george zimmerman's defense team wants it delayed until november. george zimmerman admitted shooting 17-year-old trayvon martin but says he is not guilty under ""stand your ground" law. >> governor decemberry is airing ads in texas touting the business friendly regulations and low taxes and saying california companies should check out texas. the governor brown is not worried saying if los angeles, everyone with half a brain is coming to california. >> a hearing date is now set for, giant slugger barry bonds who is appearing the obstruction of justice conviction.

underground bunker. the swat team negotiate through a ventilation pipe. law enforcement flew drones over the house looking for signs he was alive and ways to rescue him. authorities say they handled the situation slowly in order to keep ethan safe. >> you have to be extremely careful because any sort of device you might use against him could obviously harm ethan because he is right there. >> interest in the stand off extended beyond alabama, and even president obama praised authorities for saving the boy. >> thank you. >> new this morning, president obama is enjoying a high approval rating with hispanics, a poll shows 70 percent of hispanics now approve of the president's job performance, down 5 percent from december but still ahead of what the president polls during the middle of his re-election

low 40's so address accordingly and mid-to-upper 40's around the monterey bay and inland. today, sunny, and the cold front will come through quietly and open us up for cooler night tonight, and more sunshine tomorrow before the next cold front comes in on thursday and friday and bring as chance of wet weather and that passes, brighter and warmer weather for the weekend. highs to the east, a huge looking system but the moisture is to the north and the entire system is pushing the high pressure that has been keeping us dry and seasonal. this will move through quietly today but it does not have moisture and you can see the back side, this is the cooler air and the sunshine for tomorrow as we go back further on the jet stream, or upstream, if you will, we have a greater chance of showers on thursday but not very impressive. here we are thursday morning, as we start the morning rush hour, and a chance of rain possible in the north pay with drizzle for the rest of us and you can see right through the heart of rush

how, the north bay, the central bay, is the most likely to get wet as we end rush hour the storms are moving in the south bay and by noon for the most part they are out of here and headed to the south. as we look upstream there is a chance of a scatter shower on thursday afternoon and, again, friday. but a very small chance we are talking .1". temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50's and in the same range tomorrow, with more sunshine, and you can see the cooler weather for friday so if we get the scatter showers the snow level could be around 3,000 or 2,500'. saturday and sunday and monday increasing sunshine and the warmer weather. >> we go back to the pittsburg area eastbound c.h.p. arriving on the scene, the reverse commute direction, and it is not blocking the lane of traffic right now. as you can see the westbound sluggish out of antioch and they are looking at under 20 minutes westbound to concord and eastbound 80 at redwood parkway

80. in this case, time is money. >> that is right. we are learning how much that commute is costing all of us. you might be surprised. behind me interstate 80 in emeryville is moving well this morning but that is bound to change. a new study from texas texas a&m found that the commuters spent a total of $121 billion in wasted time and gas sitting in traffic. the bay area is in the top three for worse commutes. washington, dc area is number one. that means drivers there wasted 67 hours last year costing each of them almost $1,400. 61 hours at $1,300 in los angeles, and 61 hours and $1,200, more than $1,200 wastes dollars for drivers here in the san francisco-oakland area. we are tied for second, with los angeles, for terrible traffic. study shows we are adapting,

camera, a story we brought you first here on abc7. watch this, focus on the man standing on a corner of foothill boulevard yesterday morning when the driver of a stolen jeep, boom, smashes into another car at intersection where the man was standing. the driver of the jeep died. the driver of the honda suffered minor injuries. the jeep was stolen minutes earlier. >> also in the commotion after, no one knows where the man on the corner ran off to but the fact he was able to run off and survive it is incredible. >> the fate of california's medical marijuana dispensary will be discussed in a session of the state supreme court today with justices hearing arguments whether local governments have the right to ban dispensaries. voters approved them in 96 next under proposition 215. however, 180 cities and counties across the state have bans on the dispensaries. the special session is unled way at the university of san

francisco at 11 a.m. >> the san jose city council will consider taking an official stand on marriage equality. next month the supreme court reviews two cases on the state ban on same-sex marriage and the federal defense of marriage which denies benefits to gay and lesbian couples. san jose city council hope to join the city of san francisco in asking the court to strike down the laws. >> the national gun debate started after the sandy hook elementary school and is heating up in los gatos. a new gun store opened in december and drew a lost opposition. some complain a public review was not conducted although the city officials everyone not required to. supporters of the store turned out no large numbers and they say the store opened legally and should not be punished. any new rules enacted will affect only future gun stores looking to only in los gatos. >> the san francisco 49ers will hold a final team meeting at their santa clara

way from "anchor man." >> enough about me. now, you and the weather, what to expect outside. you can see from mount tamalpais, cloudy again. we will look what is going on, on live doppler 7 hd, do we have any rain in the forecast? not this morning. it is quiet. we are looking at clouds increasing in the upper part of the atmosphere and you can see from the upper left of the screen headed to the lower right that cold front will come through quietly and keep us more cloudy. most of us are in the mid-to-upper 50's like 47 in san jose and 48 in san francisco. mid-to-upper 30's at monterey bay and inland. sunny today and a dry cold front but a wet komisarjevskying in on thursday and friday and when it

passes we have brighter and warmer weekend for the weather, high pressure retreating to the east of the big storm system moving toward the coast. most of the moisture is to the north. we will get a quiet cold front passage today other than the clouds that will kick up. when it kick up the clouds and moves through, it will fall apart and we will get into the clear air tomorrow before the next chance of a shower rolls in. on thursday morning this system does not have a lot of rain and there are yellows in the north bay on thursday morning during commute but they fall apart with light to heavy green colors there, darker green, and that means light-to-moderate rain possible. the timing i mentioned, from 5:00 through 9:00 it moves from north to south through the bay in the heart of the rush hour and after we are beyond 9:00 it exits the south bay by 11:00 and we have scattered showers for thursday afternoon and notice the cooler weather behind as we get snow in the higher
